Nadene E. Rogers
Speaker, Trainer, Performance Artist, Coach

A Little Backstory …

Nadene comes from a theatrical family has performing since the age of 10 and continued her studies of theatre arts, music, singing and dance through to her mid 20’s. Born and raised in Toronto Ont., Nadene ventured west to Calgary in 1981, where she became a member of the Variety Club of Alberta’s Clown Troupe, where all ‘good fortune’ broke loose! It wasn’t long before she wrote a 12 week ‘How to Be A Clown Course,’ which was so well received it officially became Shenanigans Clown School – the 1st of its kind in Canada. Next in the evolution was to open an Agency to find work for the graduate students and spread the joy even farther. Soon she was approached by the artistic director of the Glenmore Dinner Theatre, Zelda Dean, with the suggestion of combining their talents and vision and birthed a not-for-profit called ‘The Really Useful Theatre Clown Alternative Institute.’ It was the umbrella to a successful co-written and produced one woman show on substance abuse prevention called ‘Project Crossroads’ which toured for 3 yrs. throughout the Calgary and area Public Schools System – Junior High level.’ During this time, Nadene was sought after to train Stampede Parade Mascots, supply the clown walkabout entertainers for the Stampede several years running, and produce the one and only “Clown Day” for the Stampede in 1991.

Her performance skill found value with various psychotherapists working with clients challenged with multiple personality disorders when having difficulty accessing the youngest personality – and it was the summer of 1992 that she created and co-facilitated a clowning course @ The Okanagan Summer School of the Arts.

At the age of 40, she moved to Vancouver to expand her Clown School and Agency and was approached to tender a new curriculum that taught Character Development and Motion Study in the Classical Animation Dept. of the Vancouver Film School. While in Vancouver she was led to begin metaphysical and theological studies through the 1st Vancouver Church of Religious Science and graduated in 1997 as a minister.  Moving back to Calgary she founded The Teens of Distinctions Society, The Seniors Dreamwish Foundation and The Calgary JOY of Life Centre for Spiritual Living.

Nadene retired as acting senior minister and executive director at the end of 2015, and today at the young age of 64 she is still a human potential movement junkie who continues to support individuals in embracing their humanity and living more joyful and authentic lives!
