Part 2: Dealing With Paradox: The Principle of Polarities
There is an “emergent leader” within each of us that can be developed and encouraged to be expressed for the benefit of the world. The leader within us is founded on the authentic expression of the self, which includes honesty, openness, and humility. The authentic leader draws on an internal source of value and power, rather than obtaining externally based power and value. These qualities are inherent within each person, however mindful attention is required to develop and nurture these qualities in order for them to be fully expressed.

We began the Show by gaining a clearer understanding of Polarities and how they impact decision making and communications. Dr. Dorianne explained that Polarities are pairs of opposite concepts that people and organizations face as a regular part of being. For example, moving from Individual to Team is a polarity. There is no “right” answer with polarities, and no problem to be solved. There are up sides and down sides to each pole. The key is to have a balanced perspective and be able to see the up and down sides to each pole. I began to deduce for myself that the relationship between the polarities, based on the concept that they have the same source can become the mutual thought held in the minds of the individuals who may be experience opposing views, within which lies the seed of agreement between them! Fascinating stuff!!
